Attorney Chien, commonly known as Polly, was born, grew up, and attended college in Taiwan. She first came to the U.S. as an international student and later immigrated through an employment-based permanent residence petition. Polly has lived and worked in Denver CO, Washington D.C., Pittsburgh PA and Greenville NC and developed connections across the U.S.
Polly went to law school because she wanted to be an immigration attorney and advocate for the rights of her immigrant friends. During law school, she was actively involved in the Immigration Law School Clinic and Legal Services at Jewish Family Center. She has practiced in immigration law for several years in Pittsburgh PA before moving to Greenville NC for her husband’s job at East Carolina University. Eastern NC is now her permanent home and she’s dedicated to serving immigrant communities in the area.
As an immigrant herself, Polly easily understands and relates to immigrant clients and their experiences. She understands the personal and professional importance of obtaining an appropriate visa and vigorously represents clients to meet their goals. She handles the employment-based cases at Fickey Martinez Law Firm.
